Another bright young  star descending onto the football world. This guy used to be an Arsenal boy and I remember hearing about him having potential. Those that spoke such about him weren't wrong at all. He did take a bit of time to sort his feet out, but right now, Serge Gnabry is sorting out the feet of defenders 🤯. Gnabry and his Bayern Munich team have been the best team in the tournament, statistically, and credit can be given to him as well, filling up the boots of former players: Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. He's quick, strong, young and like I've said before, one for the future.

VS Tottenham Hotspur, Matchday 2

Besides Gnabry's five star performance in this game, Bayern were all-out too good for Spurs on the night. Spurs even scored first. I'd love to talk about the whole game but I have to focus on the player I am profiling 😂🙆🏽‍♂️. Gnabry scored the first two goals in three minutes in the second half of this game. Both those goals coming from the left hand side of the pitch where he was operating in. Gnabry literally outran Spurs defenders for his hat-trick goal, the ball was coming down from the sky while the German was running, he beautifully controls the ball onto the ground and puts some force into his touch to move it further ahead of him 🔥 and, with enough composure from him and fear in the eyes of the Spurs goalkeeper, Gnabry precisely slots the ball away into the net.... a touch of class! He gets his fourth goal in he 88th minute to make the score 2-7, in Spurs' own backyard, 'new backyard' for that matter. If that had been for Arsenal, they would never dream of selling him. Just saying 😉.

VS Chelsea, Round of 16 1st leg

Why do some guys play well against Chelsea?😶😂 But anyways, it was... what I had expected it to be, a reality check. Just like the Spurs game, it's in London. Just like the Spurs game, he scores in the second half. What thaa...just like the Spurs game, Gnabry scores a brace in three minutes in this game👀😮 That's creepy and amazing at the same time! Lewandowski cut back a pass which Gnabry met with a squared boot through the middle of the Chelsea net. Three minutes later, Gnabry speed-bolts down that left hand side and side-foots one time with his left boot to seal his brace and Bayern's second of the game. It was devastating.

Final Thoughts

Even though he only scored against two teams this campaign, he's been top-drawer. 6 goals against two of London's biggest teams is not something you just do, but Gnabry proved otherwise. His pace, is the one thing that stood out for me. Blazing past defenders, running at them and keeping them guessing with his every touch. Ofcourse, credit can be given to the rest of the Bayern team as well, for being the most dominant team in the competition so far. Will be very interesting to see where they end up if the competition is to resume.
