Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the most prestigious tournament in club football!! I last left off concluding that historic group stage round and now here I am detailing to y’all what is to transpire at the present moment, the Round of 16.
So initially when writing this post I thought I’d cover all teams in a week, but these teams were playing 8 in one week and 8 the other week ๐ ๐ so I had to wait a week to cover all games.
So...without further adieu....
Atletico Madrid beat Liverpool. Enough said in that statement. Likeee howww ๐๐คฏ?? Dortmund beat PSG with the young Erling B. Haaland scoring a rocket of a goal (I swear the net almost came off ๐ค๐ฝ). Atalanta showed us how much of an exciting team they’ll be this season after drubbing Valencia in the San Siro ๐คซ๐๐ฝ. Spurs weren’t very clinical and were punished for that by Leipzig who took with them an away goal for the second leg in Germany. And then there’s Chelsea ๐๐ฌ Bayern Munich ‘outplayed’ the London side in their own backyard to setup for an easier encounter when they meet again at the Allianz Arena. ( oh my days ๐คฆ๐ฝ♂️๐ณ️).
In Italy again, Barcelona came from a goal down to level with Napoli and have the match end in a stalemate. Lyon stunned Juventus in France to setup for an interesting rematch when the two teams face off in Turin. Man City came from behind to defeat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in a quite exciting game. Sergio Ramos received the 26th red card of his career in that game ๐๐ฝ♂️๐( and he’s the captain).
Wow it feels easier to talk about what’s happened now that there are only 16 teams in this thing ๐คญ๐ but it is what it is. The results were as follows:
