I don't think many of y'all may know this guy but those who do, you know how good of a footballer he is. He's African as well. Moroccan though. I'm profiling him because other than scoring the goals, he's providing them. Yes, he is currently the 'Assist King' in the Champions League with those 5 that he has. It may not seem like much but trust me, providing the helping hand in a goal scored holds weight. It's appreciation. It looks like he has hit his peak too because last season, that is when I first saw in play when Ajax made their historic run to the semi-finals of the competition. Ohh, by the way, him and his team were knocked out again, after the group stages ended 😅.

VS Valencia, Matchday 2
7 minutes. That's all it took for Ziyech to score the opening goal in this game. It was a bolt from the blue, outside the box 🔥. After that goal not much of him was seen but Ajax managed to seal the game with an impressive team display.

VS Chelsea, Matchday 4
He had to perform against Chelsea 😑. Nonetheless, it was a good showing from him. First was his pinpoint cross to Quincy Promes which, again, really good. Then came the free-kick he took from quite a tight angle. You would expect someone to get their head onto his ball but that was not the case. In fact, the ball came off the Chelsea goalkeeper's face after hitting the post, then hitting his face. Man 😂😓. In the second half, Ziyech found Van De Beek for Ajax's fourth and final goal in that game. He assisted twice and actually didn't score as that free-kick attempt went down as an own goal from Kepa, Chelsea's goalkeeper. Yahh football stats sometimes 😅.

VS Lille, Matchday 5
This guy really has a nack of scoring early. He scored under 2 minutes in this one. Nice cut back pass to him and he expertly side foots the ball with his boot and scores. In the second half, similar to the Chelsea game, Ziyech cuts back onto his left boot (on the right side of the pitch) and finds Promes at the near post. This game wasn't over yet, a little child invaded the pitch, disrupting play, just so he could hug Ziyech. Wow 👀. That's not the end still. Ziyech scores again in the game and celebrates with his teammates. However, VAR (Video Assistant Referee), assesses the goal and minutes later the ref disallows Ziyech's goal.

Final Thoughts
Hakim Ziyech has exhibited skill and flair in this Champions League season. Even though Ajax did not make it past the group stage, his goals and assists played key even for the team's qualifying stage. Ohh so that's why the assists are 5 🤔. It's still a good feat, at least for this period of time. Chelsea have actually purchased Ziyech from Ajax and he will be part of the Pride of London come next season. Hehe, we bought our troublemaker 😆💰. Otherwise, this man is an exceptional footballer and I can't wait to see him in action again.
