Hello good people! Time seems to be flying and here we are at the final stages of the competition.
Probably not as dramatic as last week, the games were more on the comprehensive side with both favorites in the two fixtures winning, well, comprehensively ๐๐ฝ♂️๐. Now let's break it down.
RB Leipzig vs Paris-Saint Germain
Of course, PSG headed into this game the 'favorites', and they truly dispatched Leipzig . Neymar had a chance early in the first-half that hit the post. PSG actually scored a goal but the ball had struck Neymar's hand before Mbappe put it in the back of the net. Within time, PSG got a free-kick, which they used to strategic fashion. Marquinhos, having scored against Atalanta, headed away the opening goal in this game. PSG had another free-kick, and Neymar nearly scored it in the most spectacular way. If Gulasci, the Leipzig goalie, didn't see that it would've been embarrassing ๐๐. RB Leipzig were not cautious about playing from the back against an aggressive PSG press and they were caught napping off of it. Gulasci kicked away the ball to a teammate whom he thought would receive the pass, only for the ball to return and end up in his net. Angel Di Maria, the man on target this time. Leipzig couldn't cause any problems for PSG and they were further punished for it. Juan Bernat got a piece of the action by scoring a header too, almost poached by Neymar ๐. Leipzig players were quite unhappy though, as they felt that one of their players was fouled in the build-up to the goal.
PSG were convincing winners, and made it to their first-ever Champions League final.

Lyon vs Bayern Munich
The second semi-final. The second 'favorite'. The second win by the 'favorites'. At least in this game, Lyon created some chances. Memphis Depay was actually in on-goal as soon as 4 minutes, going past the keeper but guiding his shot narrowly past the post. Bayern created a chance at the other end, Leon Goretzka barely striking the ball well but getting the Lyon keeper to scurry the ball just past the post. Lyon kept looking for a goal and Depay was able to whip in a fast-moving cross. However, the ball was too fast to head on for Karl Toko Ekambi. They were made to pay for that miss, as Serge Gnabry got the ball wide, darted towards the centre of the area and unleashed one on his weaker foot ๐ฅ๐๐ฝ. Bayern took their chances. Gnabry was at it again, as he nipped the ball off a Lyon player, passing it off to Ivan Perisic, who slid a cross in for Lewandowski to score. Anthony Lopes saved the shot, extraordinarily, but it wasn't enough as Gnabry snatched his second goal of the game. In the second-half, Bayern threatened and Perisic was goal-bound, but the strike was tame and easily saved by the Lyon keeper. Toko Ekambi had a chance to pull Lyon back but his effort was dealt with by Manuel Neurer. Toko Ekambi tried yet again to find Moussa Dembele with a cross, but it was to no joy. Bayern finished off the game in the 88th minute as Robert Lewandowski struck his 15th Champions League goal of the season, and his 55th in all competitions. What a player ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฝ⚽. Bayern cruised through to the final.
Lyon might have upset Juventus and Man City, but they weren't able to replicate the feat against the champions of Germany, who now have their sights on a 6th Champions League crown.
