RB Salzburg vs Bayern Munich
The champions were emphatic once again, but Salzburg did have their say. The Austrian team scored as early as the 4th minute to stun Bayern. It took 19 minutes until Bayern were awarded a penalty which was struck away by star-man Robert Lewandowski. Bayern took the lead just before half-time when Thomas Muller hit a shot off Rasmus Kristensen, an own goal from Salzburg. The match was level again when Masaya Okugawa scored in the 66th minute. Jerome Boateng leapt highest to head Bayern back in front by the 79th minute. Leroy Sane produced a gem of a goal to extend Bayern's lead, followed by a Lewandowksi header and a thunderous Lucas Hernandez strike to cap off a dominant win for Bayern, which extended their winning streak to 14 games, more than any other club in the competition.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Talk about a goal-fest, this game was loaded with them, one sided though ๐
⚽. Alassane Plea delivered a man of the match performance as he captured a hat-trick including his first strike in the 8th minute, a rocket of a shot for his second goal and staying just about onside for the third goal. There were also goals from Lars Stindl, Ramy Bensebaini and an own goal from Valeriy Bondar. Shakhtar, the team that bamboozled Real Madrid on Matchday 1, were blown away by the German side in this fixture. Interesting to see where Monchengladbach will finish this season.

Atalanta vs Liverpool
Another goal-fested game. Another one-sided game ๐⚽. Diogo Jota was the man in this one, scoring a hat-trick to add to his wonderful start as a Liverpool player. The other two goals were scored by Mohammed Salah, who orchestrated a one-man counterattack on Atalanta before smashing his shot into the top-left corner of the net, and Sadio Mane, who chipped his shot into the net. This win added to Liverpool's 100% record in the campaign. For Atalanta, it was another showing of their leaky defense.

Istanbul Basaksehir vs Manchester United
Well my oh my, the way football can be sometimes. Man. Utd were defeated in a shock result to the Turkish outfit, with goals coming from Demba Ba and Edin Visca. Anthony Martial got one back for United right before half-time. Looking at the first goal in detail, Man. Utd were caught on the counterattack by Basaksehir due to shocking defending. Demba Ba was unmarked in his own half and by the time he got the ball, he raced towards United's goal and tucked one away for his team.

Ferencvaros vs Juventus
The Italian side bounced back from their disappointing loss to Barcelona to steamroll the Hungarian outfit. Alvaro Morata was on the scoresheet, grabbing a brace, with a goal in the 7th minute and the second in the 60th minute. Paulo Dybala was also on hand to grab a goal after a poor pass was made by Ferencvaros' defense in the 72nd minute. Dybala actually scored a second goal from an error by Ferencvaros' goalie, however, the goal went down as an own goal by Lasha Dvali. It was a good bounce back for Juventus.

Sevilla vs Krasnodar
Quite a thrilling game this one. Sevilla fell behind after an incredible free-kick by Magomed Suleymanov and a penalty slotted away by Marcus Berg. Sevilla managed to respond after an Ivan Rakitic header beat the Krasnodar keeper to go in. There was drama in first-half stoppage time when Jesus Navas saw red for a challenge made on one of Krasnodar's players. Sevilla completed their comeback in the second-half. Youssef En-Nesyri capitalised on a defensive error to level the game, and scored the eventual winner 3 minutes later after Luke De Jong's effort hit the bar.Tuesday, 3 November 2020

That marks the halfway point of this season's group stage. What a group stage it's been so far, with plenty of eye-catching moments and many goals. Teams such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Man. City and Liverpool still have 100% records and will secure their qualifications to the round of 16 provided they win on matchday 4. As for other teams, there's still much to play for.
That's a wrap from me. See you next matchday ⚽๐❗๐ฃ
