The group stage match between PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) and Istanbul Basaksehir in group H was suspended after an alleged racial incident occurred involving the assistant coach of Istanbul's staff and the 4th officiating referee of the match. The 4th official is said to have used a racially offensive term when addressing the Istanbul assistant coach, a gesture which upset the Istanbul players on the bench and PSG players too, as it was witnessed by those on the field of play, further drawing their attention. This resulted in Istanbul's players walking straight to the locker room with PSG's players following suit, refusing to continue the game.
UEFA has stated that it is aware of the incident and is undergoing a thorough investigation of it. UEFA have gone on to reshuffle the officiating team for the match, giving way for a new team of referees to officiate it.
The match has been scheduled to resume on Wednesday 9 December @19:55 CAT. The match will begin from the 14th minute as this is the time when the incident occurred. The scoreline of the game remained 0-0.
